3 Pakenham Street; Crosby building?

Until recently this was used by a Commonwealth Government department. It is currently being transformed into the Republic of Fremantle tavern, gin distillery and micro brewery.

The Heritage Council page merely says that this is an inter-war commercial building. It also describes it as a: 'Two-storey rendered and painted brick building with bracketed cornice on a simple parapet. The façade has two entrances and a driving entrance with Colorbond door on the right side. The windows have a keystone finish to the first floor. The ground floor has metal-framed windows, probably not original.'

During renovations the name of a previous owner or tenant was briefly revealed above the doors: apparently William Crosby.
