15 June. William Henry Walter enlisted as a private in the 28th Battalion AIF. After the war, he served as Mayor of North Fremantle and worked with the Fremantle Harbour Trust. In 1962, Walter and his wife were presented with the Keys to the City of Fremantle. Walter Place in North Fremantle is named in his honour.
