Fremantle Stuff > Ships > Calista

The Calista was the fourth ship to arrive in the new colony, and the second ship to bring civilians to Western Australia, arriving Fremantle 5 August 1829, with 73 passengers including Lionel Samson and Daniel Scott (and someone called Pettit [sic - with only three Ts] - apparently not an ancestor of the mayor.)

Calista, Orelia, and Parmelia are southern suburbs of Perth named after three early ships.
