Anna Robertson, arriving July 1851, brought the largest number of sappers to arrive in the colony in one group: 65, as well as Henry Wray and Edmund Du Cane, both Royal Engineer officers. Also on board was Colonial Secretary William Ayshford Sanford (who designed the Boys School in Adelaide St), John Conroy (later Police Commissioner), Bishop John Brady, Surgeon Superintendent Rev. Dr Coyle, and Assistant Surgeon R.C. Elliott.
