Fremantle Stuff > People > Brad Pettitt
Brad Pettitt has been Fremantle mayor since 2009, and is now in his third term. He was previously a lecturer in Sustainability at Murdoch University.
His mother's ancestors, the Bashfords, arrived on the Caroline, 12 October 1829. (A Pettit [sic] was on the Calista, which arrived 5 August of that year and was the second ship to bring settlers, but it seems that he was not a forebear of Brad's.)
The West Australian newspaper did a story on Brad's family history 23 Jan 2017, and he put it here on his blog.
Excerpt from Rica Erickson, Dictionary of Western Australians 1829-1914.
